This is a review of the elementary particles, quantum chromodynamics (QCD), and strong interactions in QCD theory via gluon exchange between quarks-antiquarks-producing mesons. Some mesons consist of an active gluon in addition to a quark-antiquark. They are called hybrid mesons. We also review the possible detection of the quark-gluon plasma, the consistuent of the universe until about 10−4.
