    Hippotherapy is the only treatment strategy which provides movement through space and can activate all areas of the brain at the same time. While hippotherapy has been an accepted practice since the s, it was not until the s that the outcomes of hippotherapy on people with autism began to be studied.   Hippotherapy uses the horse’s movement to enhance motor coordination, sensory integration, communication, and emotional stability in people with different disabilities.
